- Clinical Process Redesign – development and implementation of methodologies to ensure thorough integration of healthcare technologies into clinical and operational workflows.
- Program Management – direct mid & large scale ($25-100M) CIS implementations at a high level while still maintaining a strong eye on the low level details that are the key to any project’s success. - Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) – led numerous CPOE projects within both ambulatory and acute care settings. Particular expertise in CPOE implementations in complex specialties.
- Full Implementation Lifecycle – Able to take on the leadership of any part of a system implementation, from strategic planning to clinical process redesign, to detailed system integration and build.

Certified in EpicCare In Patient core, orders, and clin doc. Previous certifications in EpicCare Ambulatory and Cadence.
- Other Epic Applications – formal implementation experience with EpicRx, Cadence, Prelude, ADT, Bridges, and Identity, Familiar with Clarity, ED, Call Center, Optime.
- System Integration – managed the development of interfaces to/from Epic and numerous (40+) billing, ADT, radiology, RT, cardiology, lab, and other order entry systems.
- CPOE – extensive hands on experience developing and implementing CPOE process redesign methodologies.
- Effectively manage multiple (25+) concurrent projects.
- Jump into any situation and quickly assess and resolve issues that are preventing success, developing plans and tools that match a specific client’s needs (do not believe in “cookie cutter consulting”).
- Directed and/or managed the implementation of numerous Epic clinical applications within a wide variety of ambulatory and acute care academic medical centers and IDNs within the U.S.
- Most recently, led the implementation of EpicCare In Patient, EpicRx and ADT Light at the Cleveland Clinic’s main campus (1400 bed) hospital. Directed all application design and build activities for the Cleveland Clinic’s EpicCare Inpatient implementation. This included the design and build necessary to support a complete COE and CPOE implementation within their main campus hospital.
- Coordinated the EpicCare Ambulatory system build for a multi-affiliate IDN in Northern California, working with the affiliate project teams to reach consensus on shared build items so that the build could proceed. Managed implementation of EpicCare Ambulatory across a group of affiliated IDNs dispersed across the western United States. The project encompassed multi-specialty clinics totaling approximately 2000 providers across three separate affiliate organizations and 18 practice sites.
- Managed the development of dozens of integration projects between Epic products and ancillary systems for numerous clients including UPHS, Sutter Health, and Cleveland Clinic. Systems integrated covered all aspects of ambulatory and acute care operations.
- Created and implemented a new set of career and leadership development programs for executive staff of a Fortune Ten manufacturing company.
- Directed the development of the first and subsequent releases of a suite of mobile application development tools by a Silicon Valley startup for use across the enterprise by Fortune 500 companies
- Directed the clinical process analysis and redesign efforts required to support the CPOE implementation of EpicCare In Patient at the Cleveland Clinic’s 1400 bed main campus hospital. This included the development of a comprehensive clinical process redesign methodology and tool set
- Led the clinical process analysis and redesign and supporting build for the Palo Alto Medical Foundation’s EpicCare Ambulatory implementation.
- Developed numerous process analysis and redesign methodologies and supporting tools for ambulatory and in patient CIS implementations.
- Designed a complete set of implementation & process redesign tools for FCG’s Continuum Methodology Toolkit
- Designed and implemented all internal engineering and quality assurance policies and procedures, including all software development best practices for a Silicon Valley start up.
- Developed a management/leadership development program for FCG aimed at addressing gaps in “soft skills” competencies within the firm’s leadership.
